The ongoing Aamilicious festival at the Khandani Rajdhani (Park Street, kolkata) celebrates the arrival of the king of fruit like none before. They have 2 or 3 mango infused dishes in their regular THALI everyday made from raw or ripe mangoes.
While the Aamras remains a constant in their thali, rare and inventive dishes like Kairi Chana Dal Dhokla, Kairi Samosa Sabzi, mango kofta pulao form a part of the rotational menu.
I was invited to try out dishes from the Aamilicious festival and boy, must i say the food they serve can even turn the biggest of non-vegetarian lovers into vegetarians.
The thali system incorporates an huge amount of food served in small katories accompanied by refreshing Aam panna and mango lassi.
The thali treats you with starters like sandwich dhokla, kairi samosa, chutneys, aam ki laungi, raita ( personal favorite) dal bati and lip smacking churma followed by the traditional Gujarati khichdi, kadhi, gatte ki sabzi, palak wadi, jhatpat paneer capsicum, two types of dal served with phulka, puri and roti.
For dessert they have the lauki halwa, mango jalebi and the kesari jalebi!
